This site is a reference source rather than a discussion forum. Each page presents information that has been checked against primary records wherever possible, and notes where a conclusion is still provisional.
Research is ongoing. Names, dates and relationships are corrected as new evidence surfaces, so pages carry the date of their most recent revision.
If you hold family papers, photographs or oral history that could strengthen the record, we would like to hear from you.
